Some days you just have to get in your car and see where it takes you. This day it took me to beautiful Laguna Beach, CA. After spending the day photographing the more touristy beach areas I decided to check out one more local beach. I arrived just as the sun was setting and cotton candy clouds began peppering the sky.

I love the rich history of Los Angeles, especially downtown. Angels Flight was built in 1901 and is the worlds shortest railway. The vintage aesthetic of the design of the car and the typography on the signage make for a great black and white image filled with contrast.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect Hollywood Hills shot for awhile now. On a little known walkway in Whitley Heights I turned a corner and came upon this beautiful view. I love the warm light reflecting off the architecture of the classic (and some not so classic) Hollywood homes.

An icon of vintage Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Hotel was built in 1912 and remains a favorite for film stars, musicians and celebrities. My intention was to capture the California aesthetic and make you nostalgic for that trip you took a few years back or the one you want to take this year!
