PHOTOGRAPHIC EDITIONS

Photographs, made to live with.

The photographs released as Photographic Editions begin with the same thing: being out in the world, looking. Drawn from an ongoing photography practice shaped by curiosity, intuition and the unexpected moments found along the way, each photograph is selected because it feels worth returning to and worth living with.

Each is produced to order as an archival photography print in four considered sizes, available Print Only or professionally framed and ready-to-hang in Black, White or Natural Oak.

FROM OBSERVATION TO OBJECT

BEHIND THE STUDIO

WAYNE FORD

LOS ANGELES

I’m a Los Angeles-based photographer who spends a lot of time looking for things I wasn’t necessarily looking for. Whether I’m wandering the streets of LA or somewhere halfway around the world, I’m drawn to the overlooked, the unexpected, and the everyday moments that make a place interesting. Wayne Ford Studio is where those photographs continue their journey, from moments observed to objects made to live with.

STUDIO NOTES

Behind the Image

A few notes from the places, walks and moments behind the photographs.

01 / NEW YORK CITY

5:46 pm D Train

I had taken the train to Coney Island only to find the amusement park rides closed and very few people around. I decided to head back to Manhattan before the light disappeared. While my train was stopped at a station, another train flew past and I caught this image through the window. Sometimes the photograph you come home with isn’t the one you went looking for.

02 / LOS ANGELES

4:47 pm Hollywood

Every so often, groups of dirt-bike riders take over Hollywood Boulevard, their engines announcing them before they appear. With the crosswalk open, I stayed in the middle of the intersection as they came through, waiting for one rider to separate from the group and the chaos to briefly fall into place.

03 / LOS ANGELES

6:47 pm Venice Beach

For a moment, everything separates into light, shadow and silhouette. The game continues below while the ball hangs against the fading sky, suspended just long enough to become the photograph. It’s the kind of fleeting alignment I’m always looking for when I’m out walking with a camera.
