PHOTOGRAPHY · FIELD NOTES · PROCESS · NEW WORK

An occasional email publication following Wayne's photography practice as it unfolds.

WAYNE FORD STUDIO / LOS ANGELES, CA

+ THE WORLD

FROM THE FIELD + STUDIO

 Photography, Travel + The Unexpected

FROM THE FIELD

New photographs, unexpected encounters and observations from wherever the camera takes me. The places, people and little details that catch my eye along the way.

INSIDE THE STUDIO

A look at what’s happening behind the scenes. Editing photographs, making prints, putting publications together and figuring things out as I go.

NEW WORK + DROPS

First looks at new photographic editions, small print sets, pairings, posters and publications. Occasionally something special just for Dispatches subscribers.

NOTES + DISCOVERIES

Stories behind the photographs, unexpected discoveries, places worth exploring and the occasional recommendation. A collection of things that catch my attention, both at home and along the way.

AN ONGOING PHOTOGRAPHIC PRACTICE

Part of the Process

The photography practice comes first. The Studio grows out of it.

It begins out in the world, walking, traveling, observing and making photographs. Some become prints, pairings, sets or publications. Then it’s back out into the world again.

Studio Dispatches takes you along for the journey, sharing new photographs, places I’m exploring, ideas taking shape and work that may never become a Studio release.

Occasionally, I’ll invite you to take part. Send me an overlooked corner, an old motel or somewhere you think I should explore. Your suggestion might lead to the next unexpected discovery.

A closer look at the process, including the photographs, discoveries and moments you won’t necessarily see anywhere else.
FROM HERE, WHO KNOWS?

The Beauty of Not Knowing

Some of my favorite photographs have come from places I never intended to visit, streets I wandered down by accident or moments I almost walked past.

That’s part of what keeps me traveling, exploring and making photographs. There’s always another neighborhood, another unfamiliar place or something unexpected waiting around the corner.

Studio Dispatches is an extension of that curiosity. A place to share what catches my attention along the way, wherever the next adventure takes me.
